Legend has it that this variety was imported from Turkey by an ambassador of Francois the First in the 16th century. It was introduced to the Valais in the 19th century. Due to its unchanging character, it can be consumed on all occasions. It is a typical aperitif wine of excellent quality, ideal for accompanying a raclette or fondue. Fendant occupies a special place in the heart of the people of the Valais!
